The Poker Scene In Vietnam

As far as most citizens of Vietnam are concerned, gambling is forbidden for them. Instead, many foreigners who visit places like Saigon (Ho Chi Minh city) are welcomed to the gambling tables while the locals have to stay out.

Gambling is big business in Vietnam, and the Royal International Gaming Club is the perfect place to enjoy some fine gambling tradition. You get to stay in a fine hotel and villa, enjoy great accommodations, and gamble at the same time. There’s 18 tables for card games here and 70 slot machines. It’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to feed your gambling passion.

Another great place to gamble in Vietnam is the Lao Cai International Hotel. It’s located about 350 km from Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. While the gambling rules, especially concerning local Vietnam residents are strict, there is hope for the gambling future of Vietnam.

New regulations have made it so that certain hotels can only have a certain number of slot machines. This has been met with unrest by hotel owners, as they claim that it really hurts their financial well being to not be allowed unlimited slot machines.

So now that you know a little about the Poker scene in Vietnam, you can become more familiar with playing online poker too! The WSOP, or World Series of Poker, serves Vietnamese players along with all other nationalities too. The WSOP is a division of Caesars Entertainment, which is the world’s largest known gaming company.

Truth be told, the World Series of Poker is the most prestigious and sought out poker tournament in the world, with grand prizes in the millions of dollars. Just last year, the WSOP featured 61 separate poker events across 50 consecutive days. That’s a heck of a long tournament run-time.

With millions of dollars to be won and tons of  players competing, the WSOP is the place to be for poker. ESPN even televises coverage of the WSOP to its many adoring fans. For those lucky enough to be in Las Vegas for the finale, you can get free tickets from the Penn and Teller Theater. Seating is done on a first come, first serve basis, so get there early to get your tickets!

If you want to, you can check out the online leader boards to see who’s coming out on top at the WSOP. You can look up the names of players, how many bracelets they have, and how much money they’ve won too!

There’s always lots of players in the WSOP, but eventually it comes down to the top nine competing for the major prize money. The first WSOP tournament was held in 1970, and in 1973 it was televised for the first time on CBS. From there it has reached epic proportions in terms of fans and television broadcasts.

Some people say that the WSOP can’t possibly get any bigger, but don’t be so sure. We would say, don’t bet that it won’t become even more popular with even more money to be won because it probably will.
