Vietnam is a country with many cultural festivals, where visitors can participate in interesting activities to discover the culture and people of Vietnam. In this article I introduce you the exciting festivals this August such as “Tết Xíp xí” in the Northwest Festival XIP, “Đổ Giàn” festival in Binh Dinh or “Vu Lan” festival.

“Tết Xíp xí” festival
“Tết Xíp xí” Festival is held every year on July 14th lunar New Year which is the biggest Tet of the white Thai ethnic in Northwest. This is the commemoration of the heroes who explored and built hamlets. This Tet is also an opportunity for people to express their hospitality. So if have a chance to come here, you do not miss this unique New Year’s Day to feel the warm hospitality of the owner.
Vu Lan Festival
Vu Lan Festival is held every year on the full moon in July (21/8 Solar calendar), coincides with the “Xá Tội Vong Nhân” date. Hon Chen Temple Festival
This cultural festival takes place on the mountain Ngoc Tran and Cat Hai village, Huong Tra district, Thua Thien – Hue from July 6 to 8 lunar (12 – 14/8 Solar calendar). This is a festival in honor of the “Thiên Y A Na Thánh Mẫu”. The festival has attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists because of the many colors mixed religious.
“Đổ Giàn” Festival
Festival takes place in the village of An Thai, An Nhon district, Binh Dinh province on the fifteenth day of July of the Snake year. A roasted pig to set at the mid-high station, each fighter team trying to pull the roasted pig to become a winner. The festival has many other diverse activities such as opera, set free birds, lion dance…
“Pôồn Pôông” Festival
July fifteenth lunar year is also the time of the “Pôồn Pôông” (mean of Muong language is Playing Flower) festival of Muong Thanh ethnic in Thanh Hoa province. There are 48 unique games in the festival such as: cockfighting, bullfighting, wrestling, fishing, “Can wine” drinking…
Bao Ha Temple Festival
The temple located in Bao Yen District, Lao Cai province. Bao Ha Temple has many festivals, including the anniversary festivities Mr “Hoang Bay”, who drove the invaders, and protect national construction in Lao Cai gate, took place on July 17 lunar calendar. Also part of the festival, with many of the exciting cultural activities and sports ethnic traditions such as tug, push sticks…
Raglai Ethnic Cultural Festival
From 29 to 31/8, will take place on the Raglai ethnic culture festival 2013 in Bac Ai district, Ninh Thuan province. Festival attracted the participation of Raglai ethnic living in Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Lam Dong. In this day of activities will take place as the competition house on stilts buildings, “Cây Nêu”, folk art performances, exhibitions, tourism promoting,… and folk games.
The Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange
Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange will be held from August 23-25 in Hoi An. The program will have many new activities such as presentations and exchanges done by Souun Takeda – the Japanese calligrapher calligraphy, Japanese gastronomy, Japanese choral performances… In particular, the opening and closing ceremony will be held at the Bridge Pagoda arc street with excellent art programs and community interaction Bon dance, “Trong Com” dance…
