September is the time of many special cultural festivals in Vietnam such as: Mid-Autumn festival, Khen Mong festival in Ha Giang or Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival in Hai Phong city.
1. Khen Mong Festival
From August 31 to September 2, this is the first time the Khen Mong festival in Dong Van district is organized and will be maintained annually celebrate National Day.
There is an International exhibition with about 150 booths of local businesses and international. And lots of traditional activities such as Khen dancing, Dap Bong, Danh Sang, Hat Ong, Danh Yen.
2. The Vietnam Independence Day
Vietnamese Independence Day September 2nd is the major holidays in Vietnam during this month. From South to North, all cities and provinces are filled with red flags and banners.
3. “Month of Gold Travel” in Hue
The Month of Gold Travel in Hue will take place from 2 to 30 of September to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the relics of the ancient capital of Hue was recognized as the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, 10 years of “Nha Nhac Hue” is UNESCO Named Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and 90th of the founding of Hue Royal Antiquities Museum. 4. Le Van Duyet tomb festival
Every year on September 9th (August 1st of lunar calendar), at the Lang Ong – Ba Chieu, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh city there is a ceremony of death anniversary “Ta quan Le Van Thai Duyet” attract a thousand of participants, among them approximately 50% are Chinese tourists. This is the biggest festival of commemorating historical figures in the past and present.
5. Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival
Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival is a traditional festival of the people floating in water area of Do Son, Hai Phong city, which took place on August 8 every lunar year. 16 buffalos which won at qualifying level will be met at the final level that took place on September 13th. 6. Nghinh Ong festival in Can Gio
Festival procession in the Can Thach town, Can Gio district, which takes place on the full-moon of August lunar month every year, from 14 to 17 of the August lunar year, is one of the biggest whales worshiping festival in Southern. This year the festival will take place from 18 to 21 of September.
7. Mid-Autumn Festival
Mid-Autumn Festival on the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar every year in August. In Vietnam, this festival has become the children’s festival, also known as “Tet Trong Trang” or “Tet Doan Vien”. 8. Hoi Yen Dieu Tri Cung festival
The Hoi Yen Dieu Tri Cung is an important festival of Cao Dai religious sect. Every year, on August 15 of the lunar year, the festival is held in Toa Thanh Tay Ninh.
9. Con Son – Kiep Bac festival
Every year, on 15 – 20 of August lunar years (from 19-24 of September), Hai Duong solemnly celebrates the fall of Con Son – Kiep Bac festival. This is the traditional festival attracts visitors not only in Hai Duong province, but many provinces nearby. 10. Lam Kinh festival in Thanh Hoa province
Every year, on the 22 of the August lunar calendar (September 26th), Lam Kinh festival takes place at the Lam Kinh ruins in Xuan Lam Commune, Tho Xuan District, Thanh Hoa Province.
