Thuong Tien Nature Reserve is located in Thuong Tien commune, Kim Boi district. The topography of the nature reserve is characterised by medium-high mountains, which reach elevations of over 1,000 m. Most of the nature reserve is drained by tributaries of the Boi river, which flows south-east to join the Day river.
Thuong Tien is one of nature conservation (protected areas) was first established in Vietnam in Hoa Binh province. Progress lie pearling gateway of ecological northwest Vietnam, which is known as an area with mountain forest ecosystems is particularly rich and the distribution of many species of animals and plants of Vietnam and important Indochina. The record confirms the importance of the natural reserve position bonuses in preserving natural ecosystems, habitats of wild plant and animal species are threatened in Vietnam.
Biodiversity values
Remote sensing data indicate that Thuong Tien Nature Reserve supports a significant area of lower montane evergreen forest. However, there is no further information available about the biodiversity value of the site.
