VietnamSurprise – Many tourists also imagine the pass as an anaconda snake. The Hai Van Pass in Central Vietnam is often described as a giant white linen that swings through forests, rocks and blankets of clouds on the sides of the end section of the Truong Son Mountain Range.
The 21-kilometer-long mountain pass can look like both viewed from a plane, but then I suppose it is up to the imagination of the observer.
The minds of travelers are filled with much imagination when they ride a motorcycle or drive a car on the pass, as this leads them through a journey with different states of emotion, especially when they cross the trepidus Z-shaped sections of the pass.
There is a tunnel under the mountain that links Da Nang City and Thua Thien-Hue Province; however visitors are advised to travel on the pass to experience the excitement of the trip which many visitors compare to the fantasy movie Alice in Wonderland because of the childlike wonderment it brings out in them.
On clear days, tourists can see the Lang Co waters and Bach Ma (white horse) Mountain to the north, Da Nang City and its Son Tra peninsula to the south when they stand on the peak of Hai Van, at some 500 meters above sea level. There, visitors can have a bird’s eye view of gorgeous beaches and mountains from the observation gates.
Heading down to Thua Thien-Hue, Lang Co beach, with its fishing villages and pristine beaches, appears before you. Eateries alongside the road serve fresh seafood and other local specialties with affordable prices.
Certainly, Hai Van is a must-visit destination for tourists in Central Vietnam.
