VietnamSurprise – Lo Go – Xa Mat (Lò Gò – Xa Mát) National Park is located on 3 communes including: Tan Lap, Tan Binh, Hoa Hiep in Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh Province, about 30 Km from the north-west of Tay Ninh town (following the 781 street), covered an area of 18,765 ha in the agro-ecological regions of Dong Nam Bo.
Lo Go – Xa Mat (Lò Gò – Xa Mát) National Park supports a mosaic of lowland semi-evergreen forest and lowland deciduous forest, smaller areas of lowland evergreen forest along watercourses and Melaleuca forest. There are a lot of wetland habitats including seasonally inundated grasslands, forests, permanent lakes and watercourses, are also present. Of the various habitats present at Lo Go – Xa Mat National Park, wetlands are particularly important for bird conservation as they support a number of key bird species not found in other habitats. These are also the most fragile habitat present, due to their easy accessibility and high susceptibility to changes in the hydrological regime, tree planting activities and conversion to agricultural land.
July 12, 2002, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 91/2002/QD-TTg class officially Nature Reserve Lo Go – Xa Mat National Park, according to a decision of the Prime Minister, total national park area is 18,765 ha, of which strict protection zone 8,594 ha, ecological restoration zones 10,084 ha, zoning administration, services 87 ha.
