Quang Nam is a land with a long history of cultural tradition in the Central region, Vietnam. It is the convergence of the world cultural and natural heritage that is recognized by UNESCO: Hoi An ancient town, My Son temples, world biosphere reservation area – Cu Lao Cham. To promote global heritages and characteristics cultures of local, Quang Nam province held periodically Festival “Quang Nam – heritage journey” from 2003. Over 4 times, Festival become a connective bridge that support to take images of Quang Nam closing to tourists and investors, contributing to raising awareness of love, pride in hometown for community. With that meaning, in 2013, the Prime Minister agreed to Quang Nam province combining with Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign affairs and National Committee for Vietnam UNESCO to organize “Quang Nam heritage Festival” the 5th from June 21th to June 26th, 2013 at Quang Nam province.

“Quang Nam heritage Festival” the fifth are festival days of the world cultural heritages at ASEAN countries and all over Vietnam. The main point of this “Quang Nam heritage festival” is festival for ASEAN cultural heritages, international Choir Competition the 3rd in Vietnam – Hoi An 2013 and Miss Vietnam Ethnic in the 3rd. In the framework of Festival, it will take place the dramatic arts program; the exciting sports activities, exhibition on cultural and natural heritages of Vietnam and ASEAN countries, workshops on cultural heritage conservation, tourism promotion and investment attraction; culinary program introducing Vietnam foods and Quang dishes, tourism products of Quang Nam as well as cultural activities. “Quang Nam heritage Festival” the fifth – 2013 is operation in response to 10 years performing Convention on protection of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.

Opening Ceremony “Quang Nam heritage Festival” the Fifth-2013 will be held at 20:00am on 22nd, June, 2013 at Hoi An Theatre. The focus is unique art program with cultural colorful of ASEAN countries, representatives of Vietnam cultural characteristics, especially present of artisan performing traditional art forms that was recognized by UNESCO, intangible cultural heritage. The program will be telecasted live on Vietnam television station and radio station.
The third International Choir Competition in Vietnam – Hoi An 2013 takes place from June 19th to June 22nd, 2013 at Hoi An beach resort. This competition is held by the International association Choir Interkultur collaboration with Hoi An city including participation of Choirs from many countries and territories. Besides the competition, the international Choirs, ASEAN group and Vietnam group will perform street art program in Hoi An ancient Town and some locals in the province.
The final of Miss Vietnam Ethnic takes place from June 10thto June 26th, 2013 in Hoi An city. This is a unique cultural event to honor the beauty of young women from 54 ethnics on over Vietnam. The final and coronation of Miss Vietnam Ethnic will be held at 20:00 on June 26th, 2013 at Hoi An Theatre and it will be telecasted live on Vietnam television station and radio station.
Festival Vietnam Ethnic arts will open at 19:30am on June 21st, 2013 at Tam Ky city. The art groups representing for culture areas in Vietnam will create colorful painting, vivid reflection of cultural life of ethnic communities in Vietnam. During the Festival, the art groups will perform for local public in the province.
Exhibition on “Cultural space heritage Vietnam and ASEAN” will open at 19:30am on June 21st, 2013 at Hoi An statue Garden Park that is located along Hoai river side, Hoi An city. The exhibition will take visitors to the unique culture of Vietnam with world cultural and natural heritages and enjoy the most vivid image of heritages in the Southeast Asian countries.
Besides activities of culture and art, Festival will take place sport activities such as: national beach football, golf tournament, traditional boat tracing of Quang nam province, traditional martial arts awards of Central region – Tay Nguyen.
In the framework of “Quang Nam heritage Festival”, it will take place conference on promoting investment in Quang Nam. International Conference on intangible cultural heritage conservation, Workshop on promoting value of cultural heritage for tourism development and press Conference on communication links tourism development with participation of managers, scientists, journalists, diplomats and businessmen.
On occasion of this Festival, Quang Nam province will launch new tourist products: Ha Thanh beach at Tam Ky; taking hot mineral water and enjoy scenery of Phu Ninh lake with a legendary story about man power of the largest irrigation work at Tay Nguyen. Bird-nests experience in the world biosphere reservation – Cu Lao Cham; discovering Cham culture and supernatural space at My Son temple with homestay tourism, visiting countryside, traditional trade village and discovering revolution history of locals, visiting private museum with thousands of Chu Lai artifacts, especially opening battlefield experience tour on “legendary Ho Chi Minh trail”, visiting traditional brocade weaving village – Zơra and Grang fall (Dong Giang district).
At the Festival, Quang Nam province will announce two special dishes that are set national records and Asia: Cau Mong burned veal, Quang noodles. In addition, the Festival also has a number of other activities such as: Festival “good Vietnam dishes” introduce the typical dishes of famous Vietnam chef, showing antiques and 500 antique lamp at Dien Ban Museum of cultural history, Exhibition on handicraft products “heritage imprint”, classical car showing, kite art and some other cultural activities and tourist.
In particular, “Quang Nam heritage Festival” Fifth-2013 will recreate the unique culture of religious life and the life of Cham people through the program “Cham cultural festival days” that will be taken place at My Son relic. At the same time, the program “recreating Hoi An night at the early of twentieth century” will be held in the evening of June 21st at Hoi An ancient town.
